Rhythm of the City

Rhythm of the City

Rhythm Of The City

Description

Funk, the music that put Dayton on the map is back. And this time, it moves.

Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) and Dayton Ballet unite to bring the sounds of Ohio Players, Zapp, Heatwave, Lakeside, Faze-O, Shirley Murdock, and more to life through extraordinary dance. One night. Two iconic companies. A celebration of funk that Dayton has never seen before.

  • Choreography by Alia Kache, Gary W. Jeter II, and Brandon Ragland
  • World premiere of a new composition by LaFrae Sci
  • Special guests Deron Bell & the Time to Groove House Band performing live between every act

You don’t have to know about dance to experience every single moment. You just have to love the music.
